Role Synopsis:
Our Actuarial team is instrumental in risk prediction and mitigation. Financial Actuaries at our organization play a pivotal role in the insurance and financial stability of our regulated and rated operating companies globally. The candidate will engage in technical pricing, analytics for product development, and performance assessment, often transcending traditional actuarial responsibilities to influence the company's strategic trajectory.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed rate review analysis for diverse insurance lines, effectively communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
Investigate factors impacting profitability such as loss and premium trends, rate levels, large losses, acquisition costs, and operational expenses.
Aid in product development, pricing strategies, and risk segmentation plans.
Collaborate across departments for pricing execution, ensuring consistency with analytical findings.
Offer data-driven recommendations to business managers to guide growth and pricing strategies.
Develop and manage reports or dashboards to track portfolio performance and facilitate timely business decisions.
Support financial planning by providing accurate budget loss ratio estimates and clearly communicating underlying assumptions.
Promote actuarial best practices and foster cross-functional knowledge exchange.
Validate and document pricing models in alignment with local and global actuarial standards.
Candidate Profile:
Minimum five years of actuarial or portfolio management experience, preferably in the Malaysian or APAC markets. Local auto insurance expertise is beneficial.
Strong technical, analytical, and business acumen.
Ability to function autonomously and within a team, comfortable in a matrix structure.
Innovative and adaptable work approach.
Advanced progression in actuarial examinations from a globally recognized actuarial body.
Initiative-taking with excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capacity.
Exceptional communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
